Elia Monsef (Born on October 10th, 1987), is a Lebanese singer, musician, songwriter and record producer. He is best known as the vocalist, and one of the main songwriters for Lebanese Cinematic Prog band Ostura. He has also been involved in all records by Lebanese guitar virtuoso Amadeus Awad as a vocalist, composer and record producer.
Elia started playing guitar at the age of 14 but quickly shifted his attention to vocals after being heavily influenced by singers like David Coverdale, Ian Gillan, Robert Plant, and Jorn Lande. His wide vocal range and unique timber got him to join Ostura as a singer for their debut album ‘Ashes of the Reborn’ as well as joining Amadeus Awad’s band as a front man. Awad and Monsef were pioneers in the Prog movement in Beirut, and they introduced Lebanese Progressive rock to the world by working with artists like, Gavin Harrison, Marco Minneman, Jimmy Keegan, Russell Allen, Kevin Moore, John Macaluso, Arjen Lucassen, and Anneke Van Giersbergen among others.
Elia Co-wrote Ostura’s ‘The Room’ in addition to singing, production, and art direction. He co-produced the Orchestra Recording with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra for Ostura. He is known for his versatility and his ability to manipulate his tone to fit different styles, from ambient, hard rock, heavy raunch, to power screams. Elia now focuses mainly on Ostura, while balancing his Career in TV production and Communication.
